Austroraptor Cabazai
Austroraptor cabazai is a species of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago, in what is now Argentina. This predator belonged to the Dromaeosauridae family, commonly known as "dromeosaurids" or "predatory dinosaurs", characterized by their agility and retractable claws on their legs.

With an estimated length of about 5 meters and a weight of about 300 kilograms, Austroraptor cabazai was one of the largest dromaeosaurids of its time. Its scientific name, which means "thief of the south", refers both to its place of discovery in southern Argentina and to its role as a predator.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the Austroraptor is its skull, which was long and narrow, with sharp, backward-curving teeth, ideal for tearing the flesh of its prey. Additionally, like other dromaeosaurids, it had sickle-shaped claws on its hind limbs, which it probably used to hold down its prey while attacking them.

The Austroraptor cabazai fossils were discovered in the Allen Formation, in the province of RĂo Negro, Argentina, at a site that has also provided remains of other dinosaurs and prehistoric animals.
