Alaskacephale gangloffi
Alaskacephale gangloffi is a species of pachycephalosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago, in what is now Alaska, United States. It was discovered in the Prince Creek Formation in northern Alaska, where numerous fossil remains of dinosaurs and other prehistoric organisms have been found.

This herbivorous dinosaur was characterized by its unique skull, which featured a series of dome-shaped bony protuberances and a dome-like structure on top. These features suggest that Alaskacephale gangloffi was a pachycephalosaur, a group of dinosaurs known for their thick, reinforced skulls.

The name Alaskacephale means "Alaska head" and refers to both its place of discovery and its distinctive skull. The specific epithet, gangloffi, honors the American paleontologist Roland Gangloff, who contributed significantly to the study of Alaskan dinosaurs.

Although little is known about its behavior and lifestyle, it is believed that Alaskacephale gangloffi probably fed on low plants and shrubs in an environment dominated by conifers and ferns. Its robust skull could have been used in intraspecific confrontations, either to defend territory or to establish hierarchies within its social group.

Approximate measurements of the Alaskacephale:
