Cryodrakon

Cryodrakon boreas is a genus of extinct pterosaur that inhabited during the Cretaceous period, approximately 77 million years ago, in what is now Canada.

It is the best known species within the genus Cryodrakon, it was discovered in Canada in the Dinosaur Park formation. It is considered one of the largest known pterosaurs, with an estimated wingspan of up to 10 meters, making it one of the largest flying animals of all time.

In terms of appearance, Cryodrakon boreas probably resembled other pterosaurs. It had a slender body, elongated wings, and a head equipped with a long, pointed beak. Although there is no detailed description of its physical appearance, it is likely that it had skin covered with scales and a light but strong bone structure.

Regarding its lifestyle, Cryodrakon boreas is believed to have been an aerial predator, hunting fish and small animals in the coastal environments where it lived. Its ability to fly long distances and its considerable wingspan would have allowed it to explore large areas in search of food.

Approximate measurements of the Cryodrakon:

  • Scale 1:72 - 69 mm H (Full Replica)
  • Scale 1:35 - 140 mm H (Assembly Kit)
