It was a formidable aquatic predator that belonged to the group of plesiosaurs, very successful in its environment and that was capable of swimming at very high speeds thanks to its fins, which allowed it to chase and capture fast and agile prey.
Its diet was carnivorous and it is believed that it fed on a variety of marine prey, including fish, turtles, and even other Plesiosaurs of different species.
Kronosaurus was characterized by a long and robust body, with a large 2.7-meter-long skull flattened at the top, and powerful jaws equipped with conical teeth up to 30 centimeters in length.
Its limbs had been transformed into flippers to make it easier to swim in the water.
It is estimated that it could reach a length of up to 9-11 meters and weigh around 11 tons.
Despite the fact that Kronosaurus was a formidable predator, it was not immune to mass extinction, the exact reasons for its extinction are not known for sure, but it is believed that the decrease in prey availability and changes in environmental conditions may have been important factors.
The Model Pose represents a Kronosaurus specimen swimming in the warm, shallow seas that covered much of the planet during the Cretaceous.
