Elasmosaurus platyurus
Elasmosaurus platyurus is an impressive marine reptile that lived during the Cretaceous period, approximately between 80 and 65 million years ago. Here is an overview of this marine reptile and its skeleton:

Size and shape: Elasmosaurus was a plesiosaur, meaning it had a long, serpentine body, with an extremely long neck and a relatively short tail. It is estimated that it reached lengths of up to 10.5 meters, with much of that length occupied by its long neck.

Head and teeth: Its head was small compared to the rest of its body and was equipped with sharp, conical teeth, adapted to catch and hold slippery prey such as fish and squid.

Long, flexible neck: The neck of Elasmosaurus platyurus was its most distinctive feature. It was made up of a large number of elongated and flexible vertebrae, which allowed it to reach prey at surprising distances underwater.

Torso and limbs: Its torso was relatively small and compact compared to its long neck. It had four limbs modified into fins, which it used for propulsion in the water.

Bony Skeleton: The skeleton of Elasmosaurus was composed primarily of solid bones, including its elongated, flexible vertebrae that formed its long neck. The bones were adapted to support life in the aquatic environment.

Fins and tail: It had long, thin fins instead of legs, which it used for swimming. Its tail was relatively short compared to the length of its neck and was equipped with a horizontal fin that provided it with momentum while moving through the water.

Incredible museum-quality replicas with a high degree of scientific rigor, in which Computed Tomography of real fossils has been used in addition to an exhaustive paleontological study to create these magnificent models.
