Dakotaraptor steini
Dakotaraptor is a potentially chimeric genus of large dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in western North America during the Late Cretaceous period.

With a length of around 5 meters, Dakotaraptor stood out for its considerable size within its group. Its hind limbs were powerful and adapted to running at high speeds, typical characteristics of dromaeosaurids. Although it could not fly, the feathers that adorned its body suggest an adaptation for thermal insulation or perhaps for display.

Dakotaraptor's most distinctive feature is its sickle-shaped claw on the second toe. This sharp, curved claw suggests that it was probably used to catch prey and hold it while the dinosaur lunged at it. It is thought to have had a carnivorous diet, probably hunting larger prey in groups.

Despite its ferocity, Dakotaraptor steini shared its habitat with other dinosaurs, creating a complex and fascinating ecosystem.

Approximate measurements of the Dakotaraptor:
