Europasaurus holgeri
Europasaurus holgeri is a species of dwarf sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic, specifically in the Kimmeridgian and Tithonian, approximately 154-150 million years ago.

Dwelling in what is now Germany during the Late Jurassic, unlike its giant sauropod relatives, Europasaurus experienced an evolutionary phenomenon known as island dwarfism, where a species' body size decreases due to resource limitations on an island or isolated area. .

With an estimated length of around 6 to 7 meters and a height at the hip of approximately 1.7 meters, Europasaurus holgeri was much smaller than other contemporary sauropods. Although its limbs were relatively robust, its more compact size would suggest adaptations to limited space and resources.

Europasaurus had typical sauropod features, such as a long neck and long tail, but its smaller size set it apart. It probably fed on low plants and bushes, adapting to the resources available in its island environment.

Europasaurus fossils were discovered in the Langenberg Formation in Germany.

Approximate measurements of the Europasaurus:
  • Scale 1:35 (Full replica)
    • Length 124mm
    • Height 113mm
    • Snout-tail length 172 mm

  • 1:20 scale (two-piece assembly kit)
    • Length 216mm
    • Height 198mm
    • Snout-tail length 305 mm
