Hatzegopteryx

Hatzegopteryx was a genus of pterosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago. It is one of the largest known pterosaurs, with an estimated wingspan of around 10 to 12 meters and a total length of around 5 to 6 meters.

The name Hatzegopteryx comes from the Hateg region of Romania, where the first fossil remains were discovered. It is believed that he lived in what is now Eastern Europe.

Hatzegopteryx was characterized by its impressive size and light but strong bone structure. It had a long, narrow skull with a pointed, toothless beak, similar to that of other pterosaur species. Their jaws were very elongated and adapted to capture and feed on prey of considerable size.

Hatzegopteryx is thought to have been an active predator, feeding primarily on dinosaurs and other small animals that inhabited its environment. Although it is not known with certainty what his style of flight was like, it is believed that he was an agile flier and capable of covering great distances.

Approximate measurements of Hatzegopteryx:

  • Scale 1:72 - 80 mm high (Complete)
  • 1:35 scale - 163 mm tall (Complete Base)
